Founder | Next Door Counseling
Dr. Minsu Kim founded Next Door Counseling in 2025 with the mission of providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality mental health services for expatriates, professionals, and military personnel living in South Korea. With extensive experience in clinical psychology and a deep understanding of cross-cultural mental health challenges, he offers individual therapy, corporate mental health consulting, and executive coaching to support the well-being of foreigners adjusting to life in Korea.

Dr. Kim is a licensed clinical psychologist in the United States (Maryland: License No. 06726, Washington: License No. PY61574306) and holds the highest-level South Korean clinical certification as a Mental Health Clinical Psychologist I, accredited by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in South Korea.
He earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by his master's and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University. His clinical expertise was refined through rigorous training at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he completed his clinical training and postdoctoral fellowship in 2021.

Community Involvement & Social Advocacy
In addition to leading Next Door Counseling, Dr. Kim is a co-founder and staff psychologist at Integrated Counseling Services (ICS), a multidisciplinary mental health center serving the international community near Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.
Beyond his clinical practice, he is also an educator and researcher in the field of psychology. He serves as a professor at Kookje University, where he teaches Clinical Psychology and Abnormal Psychology, and at Mongolian International University, where he teaches Health Psychology to international students.
